| Protective Gear For Inline Skating For Kids
Skating was started in 1980. Over the last few years, it has emerged as one of the fastest growing sports. It is extremely popular among kids and teenagers.
As this sport has grown, the number of injuries associated with it has also grown. The most common causes for these injuries are loosing the balance, unable to stop, defective road, speed getting out of control or doing a trick.
The most common area injured is the wrist. Some of the wrists injuries often turn into serious fractures.
Thus, wearing proper gear is extremely important. Proper gears include helmets, elbow pads, wrists guards, and knee pads. If kids wear proper gear, the injuries can be avoided.
If kids wear wrists guard, the number of injuries can be decreased by 87%. Elbow pad can reduce the elbow injuries by 82%. Wearing knee pad can reduce the number to 32%.
However, these statistics do not reveal the degree to which the injuries can be avoided.
Yet they are powerful for kids as kids are most likely to get injured during the practice sessions.
Apart from wearing the proper gears, kids should avoid the activity like truck surfing.
In truck surfing, kids usually skate along side a vehicle by holding the vehicle. This enables them to move at the same speed.
The speed of skates cannot be slowed down immediately. So, the kids can get injured when the vehicle suddenly stops. A major and severe injury is likely to be caused in such a case.
So, it is extremely important to wear gear to ensure the full safety.
